Sexually Transmitted Diseases and Associated Risk Factors Among Transgenders in Peshawar

Background: Transgenders, male to female, are exceptionally predominant in India-Pakistan, dreaded be alarming for sexually transmitted diseases. The objective of this study was determine the frequency diseases and their associated risk factors among transgenders.
 Methodology: This cross-sectional conducted amongst transgenders at Institute Paramedical Sciences (IPMS), Khyber Medical University Peshawar from January July,2021. About two ml venous blood collected a gel tube under aseptic conditions 100 individuals check HBsAg, anti-HCV, HIV syphilis by ICT rapid strip method. Positive samples HBsAg anti-HCV were confirmed Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), while positive cases Treponema Pallidum Hemagglutination (TPHA). Chi-square test applied association between disease factors.
 Results: Out 100, seven (7%) five (5%) nine (9%) there no HIV. HBV infection significantly with transfusion, drug injection history some surgical procedure (p<0.05). For syphilis, data transfusion (p<0.05).
 Conclusion: Frequency HBV, HCV infections high common sexual activities, injection, unsafe procedures.
